Health Ministry Tips for March: Brothers and Sisters, this is March, and it's Colon Cancer Prevention/Awareness Month. Colorectal cancer is the third most common cancer diagnosed in men and women in the United States. The estimates for 2023 are that there will be 106,970 new cases of colon cancer diagnosed this year of colon cancer and 46,050 cases diagnosed of rectal cancer. Colorectal cancer is expected to cause 52,550 deaths this year alone. What statistics! Do not be one of them. Remember that colonsoscopy screening for colorectal cancer should begin at age 45 now instead of age 50 in the average risk person. You may need to get screened earlier if you have risk factors. Check with your physician.
